When we first purchased our home a few years ago, these 3 things listed in the article were at the top of my list of home improvements. The research had taken place months before we closed. As I counted the days until the keys were in our hands, I couldn’t wait to install these. These upgrades didn’t break the bank and it really made the home feel modern and renewed. All items weren’t very difficult to install and can be done by someone that is willing to read directions and a little know how with some basic tools. Seriously!
Home Improvement #1: Quiet Close Toilet Seats
Women will love this home improvement, especially one with boys and men in the home. Nothing is more annoying than someone slamming that toilet seat down after they pee (if they even put it up in the first place). Not too much out of the pocket for this upgrade.
I’d like to add this shower curtain that I love. It’s made out of fabric rather than plastic, the liner is detachable and washable and you can see who is trying to sneak in a bucket of cold water.
Home Improvement #2: Smart Garage Door Opener
You do everything with your phone, imagine opening your garage door with your phone. You don’t need those clunky garage door openers. If the door opens, closes or is left open, you get notified. It really works great with any smart home. They are really quiet too.
Other things to merry into your smart network are smart plugs, bulbs and a thermostat.
Home Improvement #3: Touchless Kitchen Faucet
By far, my favorite of the many home improvements I’ve made. I must warn you, after living with this for a while, you get really spoiled. You will forget that every faucet doesn’t offer you the convenience of automatically washing your hands by placing your hand under it. I still do this till this day, forget.
I think the next best thing to this would be a instant hot water faucet but I don’t have one I could recommend. This would be great for oatmeal, hot chocolate, tea or coffee when using a french press.
