The Best Countertop Ice Maker of 2021

How many of you love the ice you get at Chick-Fil-A or Sonics?  Do you habitually go there just so that you can get their ice and could care less about the food?  Do you DEMAND, I mean, ask your spouse politely to make sure they always get a cup of ice there (Chick-Fil-A) before they come home from their errands.  If you have experienced this, then I have a solution to this.  It comes in at 17” tall and 47 lbs, has a width of 14.25” and a depth of 14.25”.  It’s wrapped with beautiful stainless steel, gray and has LED lighting.  It is the one and only GE Profile Opal.

Let me tell you a story!  My wife is addicted to soft crunchy little ice cubes.  

Honey, can you stop by Chick-Fil-A and get me a cup of Ice? I Love You!  

Whenever I’d forget, she’d never let it go.  It got really intense at times.  What I had found out was that she had been stalking this GE Profile Opal Ice Maker,  FOR MONTHS!  Every day, she had been watching Amazon, hoping and praying that the price would drop at least $50, but it never did.  One day I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she quickly responded, “an Opal Ice Maker”.  In the back of my mind, I was like OK.  She was dying to have this.  

So, we are in the car getting ready to drive off to lunch.  Postman parks in front of our driveway and opens the back.  I hear him rummaging in the back and he’s struggling to get this large heavy box out of the mail truck.  I’m like WTF is that, because I didn’t order anything. I look at her and she is laughing soooo hard.  She finally ordered it for herself because she couldn’t wait till her birthday. SMH!

Its been 5 months and this Ice Maker has definitely changed our lives.  She is no longer grumpy.  The ice is way better than our refrigerator ice.  I no longer have to make stops just to get ice on the way home.  I get to spend more time with my wife… and kids.  This thing has brought joy to our lives.

The boring details.  Its very simple to setup.  There is an option to connect it to your plumbing but we opt to fill it manually every so often.  We’ve been away on long trips and just turned it off and nothing bad has happened.  There is a little scoop that comes with it.  Its kinda like the baby brother to a big ice machine in every aspect.  It’s not very loud at all.  I work a few feet away from it.  Sounds almost as loud as your typical refrigerator.

This is, by far, one of the best memories I have in my life and this is, by far, THE BEST APPLIANCE we have purchased in 2021.
